Google-owned video sharing platform, Youtube, is looking for ways to combat “dislike mobs” – and you may soon not have the thumbs down feature.
Tom Leung, Project Management Director of YouTube posted an update saying that the platform is discussing experiments to prevent “misuse of [the] dislike button” by what he called “dislike mobs” who disrelish videos before watching them.
One of Leung’s suggestions was to keep the like/dislike rating hidden from viewers. Another was to require the viewer and expiation for hitting the dislike button.
The Google-owned video sharing platform is seeking creators’ feedbacks on ideas to tackle the issue.
